A leading technology and engineering services business that designs and manufactures bespoke battery systems for next-generation aerospace applications is currently looking to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer. Responsible for the full development lifecycle of the electronic aspects of a Battery Management System (BMS). They will need to work closely with the systems and embedded team members.
Initially, the role will focus on the development of a BMS and building an electronics team to support this. There are several project phases before full product certification is required.
The Senior Electronics Engineer will:
- Develop and execute the electronics team strategy, processes, toolchains, and innovation
- Nurture and grow the electronics team
- Provide technical leadership in the full development lifecycle of HV batteries, BMS, and electric aircraft powertrain integration
- Engage with customers prior to and throughout programmes
- Work with the commercial team to evaluate opportunities and prepare programme bids
- Work with programme managers to plan and execute electronics programmes
- Engineering sign-off of electronics
The successful Senior Electronics Engineer will have:
- Engineering Degree or related discipline
- Experience in designing a High Voltage Battery Management System (BMS)
- PCB design experience
- A degree in Electronic Engineering
- Strong knowledge of ARP 4754 and DO-254 (Aerospace electronic hardware development lifecycle) and or ISO26262 automotive equivalent
- Membership of an industry-related professional body is advantageous but not essential
- Strong knowledge of aerospace Design Assurance Levels (DAL), or Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL)
- Knowledge of battery test standards and regulations such as DO-311A, and UN 38.3 is advantageous but not essential
- PCB design using Altium
- FPGA experience
